Practical statistical computing: A workshop on advanced R

Venue: Lab 2, Postgraduate Statistics Centre, Lancaster University
Date: 21-05-2013

This is a one day event to be held in conjunction with the RSS Statistical Computing Section and the STOR-i Doctoral Training Centre (Lancaster University).

This workshop is aimed at those familiar with R but who are keen to explore some of its more advanced features.  Specifically, this meeting will cover; interfacing R and C using Rcpp, parallel and GPU computing, and web graphics and applications from R using googleVis and shiny.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops as there will be plenty of practical sessions to get hands-on experience of each topic.

The event is partially sponsored by the STOR-i Centre for Doctoral Training and thus there is a reduced payment of £10 to cover refreshments and lunch.

Please note that all places at this event have now been filled.  To be put on the waiting list please email Rebecca Killick using this form: http://www.lancs.ac.uk/mailto/killick
